With its damask weave, Alpana sits firmly within Cole & Son’s design language. The house was founded in 1875 by John Perry in Islington, London.
The pattern repeat is 76,0 cm, which makes it a large repeat. A repeat of that size is visible from a distance and sets the tone for the whole room. A straight match makes hanging uncomplicated. Alpana is available in 2 colourways. The difference between them is greater than you might think — the same pattern can give you either a muted room or a light one.
Alpana is part of the Contemporary Selection collection from Cole & Son.
Each roll is 53 cm wide and 10,05 metres long, printed on non-woven.
The pattern works particularly well in living rooms and hallways. The look brings together a classic poise, elegance and sophisticated restraint, on a very dark overall tone. Let the wall do the talking and keep the upholstery calm.
The palette is dominated by black tones: very dark and deep in tone, with a warm undertone. Keep the other textiles in the room at the same temperature and the whole scheme holds together.
You may want to order a sample before you decide — printed colours behave differently on a wall than on a screen.
