Larsen Fabrics

Larsen is an American textile house, founded in New York in 1952 by Jack Lenor Larsen, and it differs from most of the other houses we carry in one respect: it is about weave rather than print. The colour is in the yarn, the pattern in the binding. That gives fabrics that change with the light over the course of the day instead of standing still.

We carry 160 Larsen fabrics, from 545 to 8 150 kronor per metre, with the bulk around 2 710. The expression is consistently muted and richly textured — linen, wool and blended qualities in tones that rarely shout. That makes them easy to combine with patterned fabrics from other houses without things becoming cluttered.

The fabrics work both as upholstery and as curtain fabric; the abrasion rating is shown on every product page, so you can see what will stand up to a sofa and what is better left hanging. Larsen appears in both Harmony and Essens in our style guide — the calmer end of the range, in other words.
