Classic

Classic is one of the three core expressions in Brittfurn's style guide — the one that carries the craftsmanship and the history. Arts & Crafts meets Swedish Art Nouveau: organic lines, patterns with provenance and materials chosen to last for decades, not seasons.

The palette is earthy but deep: forest green, oxblood red, muted blue-grey, linen beige and warm woods. Solid wood, handmade ceramics, natural stone and brass left to gain its patina in peace. Classic is not about looking back — it is about carrying the heritage forward.

There are close to 3 500 products here, making Classic the largest of the six expressions: around 1 680 fabrics, 730 wallpapers, 520 rugs, 250 furniture pieces and 200 lamps. The brands include Morris & Co, Sanderson, Colefax & Fowler, Zoffany, G P & J Baker and Cole & Son.

Classic suits you if you:

live in a turn-of-the-century flat, villa or house with stucco and high ceilings
want pattern and colour without it being at the mercy of trends
appreciate visible craftsmanship — joinery, woven fabrics, printed wallpapers
would rather repair and keep than replace

Classic encompasses three traditions, each with a range of its own: Art Nouveau, the organic idiom of the turn of the century; traditional English interiors, with substantial wooden furniture and Chesterfield sofas; and classic elegance, symmetrical and calm.
