Art Deco Wallpapers

During the 20th century, Art Deco had a major impact in Europe, not least in the furniture and interior design industry. The style originated as a backlash against the refined and artistic expressions of Art Nouveau. Art Deco is characterised by its geometric shapes and effective symmetrical patterns in combination with precious metals and rich colours. Many of the motifs and patterns that are characteristic of Art Deco are inspired by ancient Greece and Rome but also from the Orient. The style radiates glamour, joy and refined modernity .

Choose rich colours on the walls , preferably wallpaper in geometric patterns, to create the 20s glamour in your home. Combine your dark walls with very statement metals as in your lighting for example. Let the lighting take both space and attention in the home! When it comes to the furniture, there is a lot you can do to make your home feel like it has been taken straight out of the Great Gatsby , both with large and small means. You will go a long way in decorating with velvet textiles in rich colours and bringing some geometric shapes into your home. If you instead want to keep your home in a light and sober colour scheme , Art Deco-inspired furniture can be a way to create an interesting and personal twist! Dare to take the twists out of individual pieces of furniture such as sofas, armchairs or side tables!
