I kollektionen The Surreal World utforskar Pierre Frey det visuella samspelet mellan linjer, färgteori och optiska villfarelser. Tyget Velvet Lines är skapat i samarbete med den uppmärksammade inredningsarkitekten Ken Fulk, som här hämtat inspiration från konstnären Josef Albers banbrytande studier i färg och form. Vid en första anblick upplevs mönstret som en klassisk vertikal rand, men genom en skicklig sammansättning av nyanser och strukturer skapas en subtil horisontell rörelse. Ytan i skuren sammet växlar mellan matta och glänsande partier, vilket ger tyget en fantastisk taktilitet och ett ständigt skiftande liv när ljuset faller över ytan.
