Orissa takes its cue from ikat — the ancient technique in which the yarn is dyed before it is woven, giving the pattern its characteristically soft, almost blurred outlines. The technique has been refined in India and Indonesia for centuries, and the pattern carries that history.
Here in a colourway of grey, sage green and warm spice tones — decorative and lavish, yet perfectly balanced. The rug is hand-knotted in India from lustrous bamboo yarn, giving the ikat pattern a depth a tufted rug cannot reach.
Orissa Spice is for the room that can take, and wants, a statement on the floor. It pairs happily with muted walls, brass and dark wood.
