Tassili is the plain rug in its most sophisticated form. The surface is smooth and dense, with a lustre that shifts in horizontal bands across the rug — lighter in one direction, deeper in the other. The same rug looks different depending on where you stand in the room.
It is hand-woven in India in viscose with touches of cotton. Viscose gives it its characteristic sheen and an unusually soft surface; the cotton keeps the weave stable. Five colourways cover the entire neutral spectrum — from pale sand and ivory, through taupe and mole brown, to a dark slate grey with a blue undertone.
This is the neutral foundation for the floor in rooms where you want lustre but not pattern: beneath a seating group, in a bedroom, in a library. Viscose is happiest out of prolonged direct sunlight and should be deep-cleaned professionally. Can be ordered in custom sizes and custom colours.
