Littoral is the classic striped rug, done properly. Broad and narrow stripes of blue alternate against a natural white ground in a rhythm that never repeats exactly — the pattern is based on a coastline rather than a grid, and it is precisely this irregularity that makes it easy to live with.
The rug is handwoven in India in wool with touches of cotton. The flatweave construction makes it thin, stable and reversible, which is practical in hallways and dining rooms where chairs are pulled back and forth. The wool takes the deep indigo tone well and holds it even in bright rooms.
The three colourways each bring a different character: deep navy for the more restrained room, light blue for the summer house, and a version in which thin red lines are set between the blue. Available in two sizes up to 250 × 350 cm, as well as in custom sizes and custom colours to order.
