Edo is a plain rug in a saturated golden yellow — warm, almost honey-coloured, with a sheen that makes the colour shift between gold and burnt orange depending on the light. The surface is smooth with fine horizontal bands where the weave meets, giving depth without adding pattern.
The rug is handwoven in India in viscose with touches of wool. The viscose provides the lustre and the soft, almost cooling feel underfoot; the wool gives body and makes the rug more durable than a pure viscose rug. The combination is common in Japanese-inspired interiors, where exactly this kind of subdued sheen is sought after.
A rug in this colour is a deliberate choice — it becomes the room's source of warmth. It works best against calm, pale walls and furniture in dark wood, or as a warm base in an otherwise cool room. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, as viscose can fade.
