Brittfurn's Modern Classics is timeless, international and considered. Here we explore how the style takes shape as warm and inviting, graphic and urban, or exclusive and grand. Expressions that can stand on their own, or meet in a personal whole.

Aura looks like a surface that has lain in light and weather for a very long time. A pale blue-green field is broken up by sand-coloured passages and indistinct contours — nothing is sharp, everything blends into everything else. The effect is that of an old fresco or a mural slowly dissolving.
The rug is hand-knotted in Pakistan from a blend of wool and art silk. The wool carries the body and weight of the rug; the silk lies as a sheen in the lighter parts of the pattern, so the image changes as you walk around it. It is the same technique that makes older oriental rugs shift between matt and glossy depending on where you stand.
Aura suits rooms where you want colour without it taking over — beneath a sofa arrangement with natural materials, or in a bedroom where the blue-green tone keeps the room cool. Each rug is hand-knotted, which means small variations in size and colour from piece to piece.
