Belmont is the showpiece of Colefax & Fowler's Belmont Wallcoverings collection — a grand chinoiserie design of exotic birds, bamboo and flowering branches, printed on a herringbone linen wallcovering. The design was developed from an embroidered silk document in the Colefax & Fowler archive, and the print reproduces the texture of the stitches with a richness of detail that bears comparison with hand-painted panels.
Each drop is a panel measuring 133 × 320 cm, and together the drops form a continuous scene that gives the room the character of a complete work of art. Belmont suits anyone who wants to create a backdrop with real presence — in the dining room, bedroom or hallway — without sacrificing classic English elegance. Combine with plain linen fabrics and dark wood furniture for a room that feels both lavish and timeless.
