Rhoscolyn is drawn from the sandbanks along the coast of North Wales — the rippled patterns the water leaves behind when the tide has gone out. In the cloud version, the pattern is tone on tone, cloud on cloud, making the rug discreet but never dull.
The rug is hand-tufted in India in viscose with touches of wool. The viscose catches the light in the raised areas of the pattern while the wool ground holds back, and it is that contrast that gives the surface depth.
The pale grey-white palette makes Rhoscolyn Cloud easy to live with. It suits modern rooms, the summer house by the sea and the living room where you want calm underfoot.
