With its geometric structure and small-scale pattern, Merrington sits firmly within the Sanderson design language. The house was founded in 1860 by Arthur Sanderson in Islington, London.

The pattern repeat is 1.0 cm, which makes it a small repeat. The small scale makes the pattern discreet enough to carry a whole room. The pattern has a straight match, which makes hanging easier. Merrington comes in 3 colourways — Charcoal, Indigo and Olive. The difference between them is greater than you might think — the same pattern can give you a muted room or a light one.

Merrington is part of Orwell Weaves from Sanderson.

The fabric is 140 cm wide and woven in a linen blend. At 42,000 rubs on the Martindale scale, it comfortably withstands upholstery use in the home.

The pattern works particularly well in living rooms and bedrooms. The look has a classic poise, sophisticated restraint and timelessness, with a dark overall tone. Large-scale motifs are shown to best advantage on curtains and larger surfaces, smaller ones on cushions and details.
