Salvador from G P & J Baker is a fabric built around a textured surface.

Salvador comes in 2 colourways — Woodsmoke and Sea Foam. The colourways differ more than you might expect; choose according to the light in the room.

The pattern belongs to the Rio Velvets collection. The velvet catches the light and gives the pattern a depth that a print on a flat weave cannot reach.

The fabric is 140 cm wide and woven in a cotton blend. At 45 000 rubs on the Martindale scale, it handles upholstery in a home setting with room to spare.

The character is one of closeness to nature, timelessness and classic poise, on a mid-toned ground. It works equally well for curtains and upholstery — keep the room's other textiles simple.

The palette is dominated by brown — mid and soft in tone, with a warm undertone. Consider which way the room faces — north light pulls colours cooler than they look on the sample.
