With its floral motifs, California Velvet sits firmly within G P & J Baker’s design language.

The pattern is a straight match, which simplifies making up. California Velvet comes in 5 colourways — Indigo/Teal, Emerald, Charcoal and Red/Cream, among others. The difference between them is greater than you might think — the same pattern can create a muted room or a light one.

California Velvet is part of Signature Velvets from G P & J Baker. The velvet catches the light and gives the pattern a depth that a print on a flat weave cannot achieve.

The fabric is 137 cm wide and woven in a cotton blend. A Martindale rating of 21 000 rubs makes it suitable for upholstery.

The look combines a classic poise, elegance and sophisticated restraint, on a medium-light base tone. Large-scale motifs come into their own on curtains and larger surfaces, less so on cushions and smaller details.
