Oriel from Romo is built around a plain surface, drawn with the richness of detail that characterises the house's designs.

The pattern is a straight match, which simplifies making up. Oriel is available in 13 colourways — Andesite, Antique White, Charcoal and Cobblestone among others. Do take several samples home. The same design can turn out quite differently depending on the colourway.

Oriel comes from the Ornare collection.

The fabric is 136 cm wide and woven in a cotton blend. A Martindale rating of 20 000 rubs makes it suitable for upholstery.

Oriel is at its best in living rooms and bedrooms. Its character combines a classic poise, a modern touch and sophisticated restraint, on a medium-light base tone. Mix with plain fabrics for balance, and put the pattern where it will be seen.

The palette is dominated by grey, medium-light and soft in tone with a neutral undertone. That decides what it pairs with: a cool undertone wants cool neighbours, while a warm one sits happily with wood and brass.
