Emin from Romo is built around a plain surface, drawn with the richness of detail that characterises the house's designs.

The pattern is a straight match, which simplifies making up. Emin is available in 40 colourways — Acacia, Adriatic, Alabaster and Almond among others. Do take several samples home. The same design can turn out quite differently depending on the colourway.

The fabric is 142 cm wide and woven in a linen blend. At 25 000 rubs on the Martindale scale, it comfortably withstands domestic upholstery use.

Emin is at its best in living rooms and bedrooms. Its character combines a relaxed feel, a closeness to nature and timelessness, on a light base tone. Mix with plain fabrics for balance, and put the pattern where it will be seen.

The palette is dominated by yellow, light and soft in tone with a warm undertone. That decides what it pairs with: a cool undertone wants cool neighbours, while a warm one sits happily with wood and brass.
