The Ondine fabric from Osborne & Little is built on a textured surface.

The pattern is a straight match, which makes it easier to make up. Ondine is available in 2 colourways. The colourways differ more than you might expect; choose according to the light in the room.

The pattern belongs to the Hespera Velvets collection. The velvet catches the light and gives the pattern a depth that a print on flat-woven cloth cannot achieve.

The fabric is 140 cm wide and woven in a cotton blend. With 100 000 rubs on the Martindale scale, it comfortably withstands upholstery use in the home.

We recommend Ondine for living rooms and bedrooms. The look brings together a classic poise, a modern touch and sophisticated restraint, with a dark overall tone. It works just as well for curtains as for upholstery — keep the room's other textiles simple.

The palette is dominated by grey, dark and deep in tone, with a cool undertone. Consider which way the room faces — north light pulls colours cooler than they appear on the sample.
