The Olmo fabric from Manuel Canovas is based on stripes.

The pattern has a straight match, which makes it simpler to make up. Olmo comes in 5 colourways — Epices, Corail, Ivoire and Sable, among others. The colourways differ more than you might expect; choose according to the light in the room.

The pattern belongs to the Montaigne collection.

The fabric is 140 cm wide and woven in 100% cotton. At 50 000 rubs on the Martindale scale, it comfortably withstands upholstery use in the home.

The look carries a classic poise, strength of colour and closeness to nature, with a light base tone. Works equally well for curtains and upholstery — keep the other textiles in the room simple.

The palette is dominated by beige, light and clear in tone with a cool undertone. Consider which way the room faces — north light pulls colours cooler than they look on the sample.

Bear the direction of the pattern in mind when ordering. A large-scale motif requires more fabric when the pattern has to be matched across the widths.
