Behind Willow is William Morris, who drew the pattern in 1874. It is one of the motifs that have carried Morris & Co through more than a century without ever feeling dated.
The pattern repeat is 45.5 cm, which makes it a medium repeat. The scale is well judged — the pattern reads clearly without dominating the wall. A straight match keeps hanging uncomplicated. Willow is available in 9 colourways — Slate, Buff, Camomille and Olive, among others. Feel free to take home several samples. The same drawing can come across entirely differently depending on the colourway.
Willow comes from Morris and Friends.
Each roll is 52 cm wide and 10.05 metres long, printed on paper. The weight is 192 g/m².
Willow is at its best in living rooms and hallways. The look carries a classic poise, a closeness to nature and timelessness, on a light ground. Combine with plain textiles and natural-toned wood to give the pattern room to work.
