Behind Pure Strawberry Thief is William Morris, who drew the pattern in 1881; it was registered in 1883. It is one of the designs that has carried Morris & Co through more than a century without ever feeling dated.

The pattern repeat is 55.0 cm, which makes it a medium repeat. The scale is well judged — the pattern reads clearly without dominating the wall. The pattern is a straight match, which simplifies installation. Pure Strawberry Thief is available in 2 colourways — Flax and Dove. The same drawing can turn out quite differently depending on the colourway.

Pure Strawberry Thief comes from Morris Pure. The Pure series keeps its patterns in white, linen and grey, letting texture rather than colour carry the look. It works where a fully coloured pattern would be too much.

The fabric is 138.3 cm wide and woven in 100% linen.
