Pure Fruit dates from 1865 and was drawn by William Morris. The pattern is based on observed nature rather than ornament, and that difference is what keeps it working today.
The pattern repeat is 64.0 cm, which makes it a large repeat. A repeat of that size is visible from a distance and sets the tone for the whole room. The pattern is a straight match, which makes hanging easier. Pure Fruit comes in 4 colourways — Horned Poppy / Grey, Black Ink, Gilver and Grey Blue. The difference between them is greater than you might think — the same pattern can give you a muted room or a light one.
Pure Fruit is part of Pure Morris North from Morris & Co. The Pure series keeps the patterns in white, linen and grey, letting texture rather than colour carry the look. It works where a full-colour pattern would be too much.
Each roll is 68.6 cm wide and 10.05 metres long, printed on paper. The weight is 144 g/m².
