Marigold was drawn by William Morris in 1875. The pattern is one of the designs that have stayed in production ever since, and it is not hard to see why — Morris worked from plants he had in front of him, not from decorative schemes.
The pattern repeat is 26.0 cm, which makes it a small repeat. The close repeat gives a calm, almost textured surface from a distance. The pattern is a straight match, which makes hanging easier. Marigold comes in 15 colourways — Wedgewood, Artichoke, Brick and Cowslip, among others. The colourways differ more than you might expect; choose according to the light in the room.
The pattern belongs to the Compilation collection.
Each roll is 52 cm wide and 10.05 metres long, printed on paper. The weight is 169 g/m².
We recommend Marigold for living rooms and hallways. The look has a classic poise, closeness to nature and timelessness, with a light overall tone. It works both across a whole room and on a single wall — the latter is well worth trying in smaller spaces.
