With its geometric structure, Gavotte sits firmly within Osborne & Little’s design language.

A straight pattern match makes making up straightforward. Gavotte is available in 3 colourways — Cherry, Jade and Rose. The difference between them is greater than you might think — the same pattern can create either a muted or a bright room.

Gavotte is part of the Jive by margo selby collection from Osborne & Little.

The fabric is 140 cm wide and woven in a wool blend. At 27 000 rubs on the Martindale scale, it comfortably withstands upholstery use in the home.

The pattern works particularly well in living rooms and bedrooms. The look brings strength of colour, a modern touch and graphic crispness, on a dark ground. Large-scale motifs are shown to best advantage on curtains and larger surfaces, smaller ones on cushions and details.

The palette is dominated by red, dark and deep in tone, with a warm undertone. Keep the other textiles in the room at the same temperature, and the whole scheme will hold together.

You may want to order a sample before deciding — printed colours behave differently on a wall than on a screen.
