A straight match makes hanging straightforward. Alma Velvet comes in 15 colourways — Oyster, Sand, Mole and Spice, among others. The difference between them is greater than you might think — the same pattern can give you a muted room or a light one.

Alma Velvet is part of Coromandel Velvets from G P & J Baker. The velvet catches the light and gives the pattern a depth that a print on a flat weave cannot reach.

The fabric is 137 cm wide and woven in 100% viscose. With 50 000 rubs on the Martindale scale, it comfortably withstands upholstery use in the home.

The look has a classic poise, elegance and timelessness, with a medium overall tone. Large-scale motifs show to best advantage on curtains and larger surfaces, smaller ones on cushions and details.
