Scaramouche is a vivid, expressive jacquard from the Italian textile house Dedar in Milan, centred on a playful interpretation of the classic Japanese kimono. The pattern captures an imaginative world populated by curiosities and fabled beasts, with the outlines of a dragon and the character of a harlequin. The yarn-dyed weave combines richly coloured threads with subtle glints of metallic lustre and raised fringe details, creating a fascinating three-dimensional texture on the surface. By leaving behind the strict rigour often associated with Asian textile art, it brings a scenic, theatrical elegance full of movement and character to the room.

This exclusive fabric is wonderful as draped curtains, where light can play across the rich texture of the weave, or as the cover for an accent piece that deserves to be the focal point. In a modern or classic home, Scaramouche becomes a sophisticated conversation piece that balances craftsmanship with artistic daring. Its unique composition, with a touch of silk, gives both a wonderful drape and a durable surface. Decorating with this pattern is about daring to add a dose of drama and colourful elegance that transforms the overall feel of the room.
