Behind the Rousseau Large wall light is Kelly Wearstler, designer for Visual Comfort & Co. A wall light lifts the light up from floor level, creating shadow and depth. Used in pairs — either side of a mirror, a painting or a bed — the effect is calmer than overhead lighting.
The fitting comes in 2 finishes — Antique-Burnished Brass With Etched Crystal and Bronze With Etched Crystal. It is worth matching it to the other metals in the room. The material is brass.
It measures 6.4 cm in width and 76.2 cm in height. The weight is 3.6 kg — worth checking against the mounting before installation. Delivery time is 2-8 weeks. The slim width means it takes up little space, which is an advantage in hallways and around mirrors.
The Rousseau Large wall light is at its best in hallways, bedrooms and living rooms. Its expression leans towards Art Deco. Choose a warm white bulb of around 2700 K and consider adding a dimmer — lighting needs to shift between day and evening.
Lighting is hard to judge from a picture. Do visit the showroom at Sturegatan 20 and see the fitting lit.
