Carpets from Ghom are known for their fine quality. Wool, cork wool (the best sheep wool) and natural silk with silk warp are often used, which makes them exclusive and expensive. They are often tightly knotted with Persian knots and have figural, medallion or garden patterns with plant and animal motifs. An exclusive carpet with a detailed pattern knotted in a studio has a high knot density, between 600,000 and 1,200,000 knots per square meter.
