Choosing fabric for your curtains isn't always the easiest thing to do, as there are many aspects to consider. That's why we have three questions for you to consider before ordering your curtains!
1. The primary function of the curtain?
Should the curtains be blackout, privacy-protecting or just decorative?
Should you have double rods or rails so that you have both a thinner fabric, also called voile, together with a thicker fabric?
How are the acoustics in your home? Curtains and textiles are an effective way to create better acoustics in a room.
Consider whether the curtains should have any more function than being purely decorative, then choose what fabric you want your curtains to be lined with.
2. How much space do you have?
It is important to consider how much space you have in order to choose the right type and style of curtains. Roller blinds are a great option if you don't have much space below your window, for example if you have a built-in bench or similar below.
Wave curtains are best suited for larger spaces. Sewn pleats and curtains with finger hooks fit well in most spaces regardless of size.
3. What style and feel do you want?
Think about the feeling and impression you want your curtains to bring to your home.
If you want to create a natural feeling that contributes to harmony, you can choose curtain lengths in linen, preferably in earthy tones.
If you want to create a luxurious and exclusive impression, velvet is a good choice.
Patterned fabrics add both color and personality to the home.
